STAA Artistic Council
June 11, 2007
Give us YOUR thoughts

The Artistic Committee wants to meet your needs and incorporate your brilliance.  Unlike the clear agenda of committees such as advocacy, we on the Artistic Committee are still defining how the committee can best serve STAA and the Artistic Directors of its constituent organizations.

Here is how the committee defined itself in 2006:

The STAA Artistic Council is a subcommittee of the larger STAA membership that serves as

  • an advisory panel for the organizers of the annual conference that suggests speakers, sessions & themes

  • an outreach arm of STAA to help recruit new artistic leadership and engage non-active members

  • a resource for networking the artistic leadership of member companies

  • a forum for ongoing discussion of artistic topics

What would YOU like to see the Artistic Committee become?

What would be of value to you artistically?

How would you like to participate?

Here are the questions that the conference calls will address... What are your thoughts (hit the Post Comments link at the end of this posting)

  1. What would you like to see the artistic committee do for STAA?

  2. What topics of conversation would be of interest/use to you?  Individual plays? Rehearsal techniques?  Management issues?  Current performance or Shakespearean Research?

  3. What is the best forum for these conversations?  Blog?  Email group?  Conference Call?  Newsletter?

  4. If the Committee hosted a monthly conference call, what would be your preferred day and time?

  5. Is there a way this committee can serve the STAA community as a whole not addressed?
